Rembrandt tip
You probably knew that Rembrandt stored his paints in pigs bladders but...
did you know what he did to dispense it? Neither did I.
Apparently, he would stick a pin into the bladder, squirt some paint out and the pinhole miraculously sealed itself up again!
Recently, I discovered this idea can provide the perfect solution to a problem I've had for years.
I often buy my glazes - such as liquin - and varnishes in plastic bottles and after using them a couple of times the screw top becomes welded on and you need a vice and a mole wrench to get it off,
Since taking this tip from Rembrandt here's what I do now, stick a drawing pin in the side - then to use, remove the pin, decant the glaze by squeezing the bottle and replace the pin. So simple!
